Ragland Piano Company is owned and operated by me - Howard Gustafson. I am a second-generation piano technician with over 25 years experience with all types of pianos, including player pianos.  My career started as a preteen helping my father with minor tasks in his shop, followed a few years later by a decade associated with one of the largest music stores in the Memphis, TN area.  I relocated to Texarkana, TX in 1996 and a year later opened Ragland Piano Company in its present location at 314 Main Street.  I have three boys, the oldest of whom has started assisting me in the shop after school - the third generation to work in the piano business.

This piano is a nice, 6' 2" American made JC Fischer grand piano.  It is a very nice piano and though it is not necessarily a well known brand, all the examples we have seen have been excellent pianos (not to be confused with the JC Fischers produced in later years by Aeolian-Americal Company).  It is currently undergoing professional restoration in our shop (over 25 years experience) being fitted with a new pinblock, strings, tuning pins and dampers.  It is also being stripped and refinished, so at this point you have the option of specifying a dark or light stain (we can match a sample) and satin or polish finish.  We are also rebuilding the action, including but not limited to new hammers, shanks and flanges; new keybed felt, new keybushings, new wippens and more.  We have references available and will provide them on request.  A matching bench is included, as is ground floor delivery within 300 miles of Texarkana.  Why pay for a cookie-cutter, imported, black baby grand (yes, we do sell them too!) when you can have a nice, professionally restored prewar grand?  Payment terms:  Half at purchase, balance at completion and approval (if you wish to inspect it in person), prior to delivery.  Serious prospects call or email me and I will provide contact info for references and email before and after pics of other restorations.  You are welcome to visit the store to see the restoration progress and we will also take photos documenting the restoration process.  Feel free to email with questions, thanks for looking!  As work progresses updated photos will be posted until the instrument sells.
